I create inclusive classrooms where students feel seen, supported, and ready to grow. Every lesson is a chance to build confident thinkers and lifelong learners.
📚 A Decade of Classroom Leadership
Since 2012, I’ve been teaching upper elementary students with a focus on English Language Arts. Over the years, I’ve developed classroom routines and instructional strategies that spark curiosity, build confidence, and help students find their voice through reading and writing.
📝 Curriculum Writer and Literacy Advocate
I’ve contributed to district-wide curriculum design and led professional development sessions for fellow teachers. My focus is always on making learning meaningful, with differentiated instruction, strong classroom management, and a love for literacy at the heart of it all.
🎭 Bridging Academics and the Arts
I believe in the power of performance, and I love bringing storytelling to life through creative projects. I’ve led schoolwide initiatives that blended ELA with the performing arts, helping students build both literacy skills and confidence.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from The University of Mississippi, but my passion for teaching started long before that. I come from a family of educators: my father, grandmother, and grandfather were teachers who showed me the impact a great educator can have.
Now, as a licensed teacher in both Mississippi and Illinois, I carry on that legacy with joy, purpose, and a deep belief in the power of the classroom.
I've been honored to be recognized for the work I love. Explore some of the awards and recognition that highlight my journey as an educator.
